Erika Grafsky and Sara Hart submitted their dissertation proposals in the annual proposal competition for the HEC Dissertation Fellowship Awards and were awarded a one year doctoral fellowship to complete their dissertations. The funds for these fellowships come from the former College of Human Ecology alumni contributions for specific awards for students in Human Nutrition, Consumer Sciences and HDFS. Sara Hart's research is entitled "Disentangling the relative contributions of "traditional" versus process-based measures in children’s math and reading achievement." Erika Grafsky's research is entitled "Formative research on LGB youth disclosure to family & substance use." Congratulations to both Sara and Erika.
