Applying to the HDFS Graduate Program:
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS JANUARY 1, FOR ADMISSION THE FOLLOWING AUTUMN

- Use the online application form to apply to The Ohio State University Graduate School. http://gradadmissions.osu.edu/apply_online.htm
- Submit your GRE scores to OSU (code 1592) and to the department (code 4603).
- If you are an international student, submit your TOEFL scores to the university and the department.
- Send transcripts to OSU and to the department.
- Submit 3 letters of recommendation to the department. This can be done either online with your application or by mail.
- Submit a letter of intent to the department. This letter should describe your interest in the field, what areas of research you are interested in, what you hope to do once you have obtained your degree and names of faculty members in the department you might like to work with after reviewing their information on this website and contacting them.
- Submit a resume to the department. This is especially important if you want to be considered for university fellowships.

Our Minimum Requirements for Admission:
To be admitted to our graduate program, you must have a minimum score of 500 on the verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE, and a minimum of 4.5 on the analytical writing section. You also need at least a 3.0/4.0 undergraduate GPA and a 3.5/4.0 graduate GPA if applying for the PH.D.
Those interested in the straight-through Ph.D. program should be exceptional students who have well above the minimums to be considered for admission.
Those interested in the CFT program should note that this is a Ph.D.-only program. We do not have a masters in CFT.
